Jackson, Mckenna and I spent the day on a "Cherry Blossom Adventure"....We picnic'ed and danced under the cherry blossom trees. We wrote in our journals and drew pictures of the things that we saw. Jackson and I hosted a Valentine's Party for his class! (Keep in mind that our party was the day after the big snow storm) We decided to have the party "No Matter What" ....... So, we baked cookies and cupcakes and made valentine's crowns and watched the snow come down...We had 4 friends make it over in all of the snowy mess! We called them "The Brave Ones".........A good time was had by all.........
The snow is falling and it fell and it fell and it just kept on falling! We built snowmen-did lot's of sledding and even made snow ice cream! And, went snowmobiling thru Chestnut Hill.
I'm a little slow about blogging these days ...so, I'm going to try to catch up.....This has been one of the Snow-est years in Philadelphia....Over the Christmas break we got 2foot of snow(Jackson and I missed this one-we were down south) #2 came on with a bang! 2more foot of snow!
I 'm a Southern Gal and well, I just never got enough snow as a kid! So, I love the Snow, The Winter and I just can't get enough of "The Cold"....In Philadelphia-We are having a Blizzard! Here's my snowman- "Saint" He has on black and gold in honor of the New Orleans Saint's winning the Superbowl!!!! You'll notice he's holding up his "Saint's#1 " finger! Who Dat.
Merry, Merry , Merry Christmas! Santa came and brought Jackson Lego's and a Leapster2 and filled all of the grown-ups stockings too! We all had a great time! Good time, Good Food and Great Kin Folks........
Matthew made it to town-He flew into Birmingham, Ala...jumped in his rental car and was so excited to be heading toward--HogEye ...that he forgot his luggage at the Airport...So, he borrowed some jeans from Dad-and we bought new undee's from the dollar store.....all is good and the fun continues!
Tree Day There are no trees like a fresh cedar tree! My Mom's memories of Childhood Christmas always include a Fresh Cedar Tree...chopped down from "The Land" or her Momma's Silver tree with the Multi color wheel. We set out to the woods to chop down a real cedar tree. There is so much fresh Mistle toe that I wish I could come up with an idea to package and sell it up North! (I'm sure that we would make a fortune)
We're heading to HogEye!!!!! My Mom was raised on a farm in Hog Eye, Mississippi -It's beautiful prarie land and prime deer hunting land. This is the 2nd Christmas that we are spending in Mom and Daddy's Cabin. It's a magical place to be for Christmas-
Family and Friends! We started the day in Hattiesburg, Mississippi visiting some old friends.........And we ended the day having dinner with our Cousins.......... The Cousins! Sister Cindy and Jackson Alexandra, Heather, Neely and Me Shelby , Me and Forrest Georgia, Me and Little Wendy Suzanne, Angeia and The Judge! A visit with Mrs. Ward and Jessie!
